Trauma Response Project:
 
The Trauma Response Project (TRP) provides information and support to bank robbery victims through peer-to-peer monthly support group sessions. TRP is sponsored by the Financial Institutions Security Task Force and is available to any employee of an Oregon bank or credit union free of charge.  For more information, click here.

City and County Victim Assistance Programs:
 
In Oregon, all 36 county District Attorneys' offices and six City Attorneys' offices have certified victims assistance programs (click here for a list of these offices and contact information).  These programs can help victims by:
 
  • Informing victims and witnesses of their case status and progress;
  • Performing advocate duties for victims within the criminal justice system;
  • Assisting victims in recovering property damaged or stolen and in obtaining restitution or compensation for medical and other expenses incurred as a result of the criminal act;
  • Preparing victims for pending court hearing by informing them of procedures involved;
  • Accompanying victims to court hearings;
  • Involving victims, when possible, in the decision-making process in the criminal justice system;
  • Assisting victims in obtaining the return of property held as evidence;
  • Assisting victims with personal logistical problems related to court appearances;
  • Developing community resources to assist victims of crime;
  • Assisting victims of crimes in the preparation and presentation of claims against the Criminal Injuries Compensation Account; and
  • Generally encouraging and facilitating testimony by victims of and witnesses to criminal conduct.
